I've spent a bunch of time there over the past year and a half and I can honestly say it's an amazing place with an extremely dedicated staff & equally dedicated group of volunteers.
The animals are just as special, demonstrating unique & diverse personalities. It's remarkable how other species form these wonderful relationships with humans as well as other animals.
Many animals arrive at CAS in dire straits having been treated poorly on many different levels. Some of the stories I have heard are unbelievable.
But the sanctuary is truly that, a safe, compassionate and loving place. There are times when I arrived there feeling down & stressed. But there is an energy about the place. The animals connect with you. You feel it.
CAS performs a lot of community outreach to promote the well-being of animals, education about food production, gardening & cooking to name a few things.
Please visit this wonderful place and offer your support if possible. You can also read Kathy's 2 books, available thru Amazon and the CAS website - www.casanctuary.org. The latest one, Animal Camp, features many of these images.
